Change Your Oil – Acura Integra and Other Cars

How to change your oil. This is for an Acura Integra, but the procedure is similar on *most* other cars. http://www.mactaylorrealtor.com/ http://www.boatlift…

You can use whatever you want – just make sure to use the right weight for
your engine. I personally use Castrol Syntec fully synthetic oil. Synthetic
oil is shown to last longer, provide better lubrication, and a practically
imperceptible increase in horsepower.

Why Do Fram’s Suddenly Appear……..Every Time ………Engines Are
Near………Just like Me they long to beeeeee……

abzdefg321123 says:

You can never really gauge the life of your motor oil simply through visual
inspection of the colour.. that’s a popular misconception. To truely tell
if your oil is spent would be to get a used oil analysis report on the oil.
Oil can get dark within the first 2,000 miles easy but could still have
another 2-3,000 miles of life left.

Explain, please, where you placed that scissors jack. Thanks.

vickie says:

Yay I change my oil. Thanks for the tips made my husband proud Haha

ZekeComa says:

Is it really necessary to change oil every 3K-4K?

josephcmiller2 says:

Changing the oil is easy!

lightningsmokerXx says:

Ya like the one guy said…..a lot of people just go under the assumption
of Frams’s former good name. They now days being under a Honeywell
ownership no longer Bendix…..they are really a crap filter. Fred Jones on
youtube has a video of a cut out. I used to use them……guilty……..but
then in 2006 i found out they were crap and i’ve been using Wix ever since
(napa gold too made by wix). Purolator, Amsoil (expensive) are good as
well.

josephcmiller2 says:

I’d have to tell you that I’ve never, ever watched a single other oil
change video in my life. Maybe other people watch a lot more oil change
videos. I just don’t have that kind of time.

brightside85 says:

Sorry, but worst oil change video ever.

TeamTato GsR says:

Hey brother what kind of oil do you recommend to use in my teg 2001?

TheLBCSublime says:

Nonetheless, the filter still has to fill up, so it is wasted oil flow

josephcmiller2 says:

@JayzBeerz Haha, thanks for pointing this out. I haven’t used Fram in over
a year but you are absolutely correct. I should add that in big bold
letters: NO FRAM!

TheLBCSublime says:

Prime your oil filter next time to avoid oil flow restriction. ALl you do
is pour a bit of new oil in and move the filter around. Look inside and
you;ll see the oil getting absorbed. Then when you start the car, your oil
pressure light will on be on for a split second instead of 2 or 3 secs

habbousa01 says:

You made a mistake. You suppose to pull the dip stick out, clean it, put it
back in, and then pull it out and check it. Not once. THINK WITH YOUR
DIPSTICK JIMMYY!!!!

JethroTull18 says:

for clarification, Acura Integras take 4.5 Quarts of oil.

UFO000100 says:

I change mine every 6K or 6 months with Mobil 1 and NAPA/Wix filter.

josephcmiller2 says:

For a Honda, the oil is filtered after it flows through the block. So even
if you prime the filter, the block would still be empty of oil for several
seconds.

JayzBeerz says:

I see one problem with this video you used a Fram oil filter, tsk tsk!

mystisohorney says:

thanks for showing me how to pop the hood, ive looked everywhere but
couldnt figure out how to do it. jk thanks for the vid

josephcmiller2 says:

@bg11215 Remove the bracket under the intake manifold and you can reach the
oil filter from the engine bay. That bracket holding up the intake manifold
is completely unnecessary because the intake is held on by about 9 bolts
already. You can leave it off after that.
