How much are you willing to fix my rust??

Souverain Daniel says:

Did you use gaz with your mig ?

Velvethamma says:

Maybe, however the wheel lip may be more prone to rock chips and may still rust. I beleive the cause of the rust is the foam seam sealer used at the factory between the quarter panel and the inner wheel house. The road grime seems to get trapped around the area just above the top of the bumper cover inside the wheel opening. I think that’s how it starts the corrosion process.

projektvertx says:

Very clean work. Props. Question for you: Do you think removing the rubber lip around the wheel well would help minimize any rust issues?

Velvethamma says:

no problem

Velvethamma says:

thanks

Velvethamma says:

you are welcome

Ron's Garage says:

Nice work…agree with you on cutting tip off your weld wire after each weld. At least to me it seems to make a big difference. Thanks for sharing.

turbocobra says:

Really nice work on the patch, alot of attention to detail. I also have been seeing more and more people staying not to blow your welds down to cool them, so going to stop doing that myself.

@wildeyednorthernboy Hammer was my knickname given to me by a very good friend. It evolved into “Velvethamma”after after several cocktails one evening hanging with the boys.
