Hi any videos on how to replace a front bulkhead on a 05 Acura RL

piercedasian says:

It will be VERY similar. The plug locations and fluid quantities will
likely be different.

Thanks for the Video. Does this apply to a 2010 Tl AWD?

Nick Sin says:

interesting vid. Maybe leveling the vehicule would be a good idea to level
off better could be something to think about. Also, torque specs back there
could be helpful. Keep up the good work.

piercedasian says:

thanks for the tip. I have used brake cleaner to clean up any spilled or
excess oil but found that using a rag or some paper towels cleaned up the
area reasonably well. Definitely wear gloves as brake cleaner does a number
on the skin of your hands! Cheers!

I received my dpsf &DW1 transmission fluid and will be doing this job on my
2009 RL, which also used atf fluid because the new dpsf fluid had not come
out yet. I will be doing a drain and fill on the transmission(about
3qts..X2x1week) Also changing the oil using mobile1 0-20 advanced fuel
economy, hey thanks for the video, this gave me the confidence to do this
valuable service myself. The next time you do any work around these
fluids…please please use nitrile 5-7 mil gloves available at HarFr

Thanks for sharing. ?.the video is very helpful. ?

Also are the draig and fill plug locations the same on the 09 TSX?

KnicksNYanks84 says:

Very helpful, great video! What fluid do you recommend for a 09 TSX: for
rear diff and transfer case?

piercedasian says:

If memory serves me correctly the “typical service” interval is every
60,000 miles or 100,000 kms. I personally don’t recommend waiting that long
to do a service on the fluid considering what it has to cope with (high
pressures from gears and clutches) and the fact there isn’t a filtering
device of any sort. I personally would service this fluid every 30,000
miles or 50,000 kms. Since you can do it so easily yourself there is no
reason why it shouldn’t be done sooner to prolong component life.

mynsxt6 says:

How often do you replace this fluid dpsf?

piercedasian says:

You’re welcome!

mynsxt6 says:

The next time you do this service use some brake cleaner to dry up the
excess fluid around the drain areas quickly, please remember to use nitrile
gloves at harborfreight: 7 mil Nitrile Gloves Powder-Free X-Large 50 Pc

piercedasian says:

The plugs are not the same on the TSX. If I remember correctly your
generation of TSX should have just 2 plugs on it. One fill and one drain
and they’re accessed by using a long 3/8″ ratchet extension that goes
through the rear subframe. Your TSX MUST use the updated Acura DPSF and it
will need 2.53 litres. You can easily identify the plugs because they
should accept the square drive end of a 3/8″ drive ratchet. Just make sure
you crack the fill plug open first before you open the drain plug!

piercedasian says:

Torque spec for drain bolt is typically about 25-35 ft lbs. Not very tight
at all – hand tight at the most.

piercedasian says:

The funnel and tubing combination can be made from a funnel and just some
basic vinyl tubing you buy at home depot. Nothing complicated about the
setup and certainly not expensive to make on your own.
