3.7L Engine Replacement prep – “PART 2” time-lapse

Multiple check engine dtcs. p0305, p0306. Engine running rough and severe misfire flashing M.I.L. Engine oil consumption damaged motor due to low oil. Cylinder # 5 & 6 misfiring. Failed Borescope cylinder walls scored & failed leak down test. Low compression.

-Condenser brackets
-Radiator & fans
-Coolant reservoir
-Washer reservoir
-Drilled out upper radiator core support
-Airbox & filter
-Battery & tray
-Throttle body & gasket
-Engine harness disconnected
-Engine ecm
-Upper intake manifold cover
-Intake manifold assembly and gasket
-Power steering reservoir
-A.c brackets
-Starter
-Fuel lines, vacuum lines, hoses
-Exhaust manifolds and catalytic converters
-Torque converter bolts
-Axle mount bracket
-Motor mounts

It's crazy that you need to drill off structure to do a motor change. I guess this whole assembly goes in from below at the factory and they assume that you will drop the whole subframe assembly with motor and transmission if you need to do a motor change. I don't have a car hoist so I'm faced with an issue and I need to change my motor.

How did you remove the top radiator crossmember ? Did you drill through the spot welds on each end ? Did you spot weld it back on or did you use bolts and nut or rivets ?
