Dealer told me if the aforementioned spring breaks, it's $300 to fix because the entire top of the console would have to be replaced. Total cost for positive fix was $16.00. I may have over-paid for parts by $5-6 dollars. Total repair time was right at 2 minutes. Thanks for you informative video.

Thank you for a great video and instructions. I encountered a problem when installing mine because the spring that came with the new latch did not align with the old spring on where the points came out. Thus, even though I was able to get things together, it did not grab the lower latch. Thank God I had kept the old spring. I just reused it and everything went together smoothly.
