Remember the RL from Monday’s video? This is how it got fixed. 2005 Acura
RL Brake Light Switch Repair -EricTheCarGuy
You don’t get to play with tools? How much fun is that?
My mothers car has problems going into drive and reverse, i know there is
nothing wrong with the transmission not even low on fluid, its a 97 buick
lesabre limited edition do you think i could be have the same problem as
seen in the video?? any pointers or anything will help.
I did this recently on my ’01 VW Golf (common failure on MK4 VWs) but its
already happening again with the brand new part. I don’t want to pay the
dealer another $36 dollars. What can I do?
with those panels , it can really be the position you place your tongue in
when you re-install them .
This is one of those rare moments when you’re actually working on a
customers car.
wheres ya gloves…lol
After watching this video I checked out the electrical circuits involved.
Learned that my 2002 Accord has a brake light failure sensor and how that
works. Thanks.
Same switch for a KIA Rio 2001 costs 30 bucks
Wow! That was the easiest brake-light-switch replacement I’ve ever seen!
*WAY* easier than the one in my ’68 Galaxie… That thing was a royal pain
to get out and a new one installed.
If every repair was this simple, that would be nice ;c)
Eric would you buy a 2002 Acura TL with 113k miles even though their known
to have tranny problems?
great video…thanks.
Being fairly new to the ABS world, it never dawned on me that the brake
switch does so much today.
Wow looks like the scanner is Android based. However I would be very
surprised if this brake switch Will never fail again because of where it
was manufactured as OEM.
Do you have to be good at math to become an engineer
Hey Eric would try and help me identify a noise on my 95 ToyotaTacoma:
first the noise would only be heard while accelerating at low speed and now
i cans hear it without applying the gas in low speeds
You have to do repairs your self these days. I quoted Front rotor/pads &
Rear shoes for a ’08 Chevy Cobalt and every shop almost wanted $800. Which
is like $600 in labor for maximum of a 2 hour job. My car guy moved away so
have to learn all I can.
Interesting video sir
Wow wish all brake switches were this easy, more so Like my Ford products
LOL
I like that you disassembled the old brake light switch, Eric. I wonder
how many working mechanics would go to those lengths but, as we all know,
inquiring minds want to know.” Good job!
“That video is too short” is never my complaint when watching ETCG.
12 dollar part, not to much labor needed to repair…What does the customer
at a dealership pay?
From all the video’s i saw, this is the first time i see you without
gloves! :P
When we gunna start the fear m #### race car I really waiting for that
I like that half threaded switch, reminds me of a thread tap, clever design
🙂
Shame they didnt use another method to tell the computer though, switches
are a bit crude.
Yes another repair video 😀 can never get enough of them!!
New subscriber here, great vids (lighting, detail, audio, excellent) So,
how did you get the car out of PARK when you were stuck at the store? Just
an intermittent problem? And, I couldn’t find vid you mentioned, “Remember
the RL from Monday’s video? This is how it got fixed.” Thanks
I had to replace this on my 03 accord v6 6 speed. Tcs and abs lights came
on. Common
Nice video, cool tips for adjustment. Thanks Eric
Hey Eric, I have a 1975 Plymouth Valaint and my cluster doesn’t work no oil
pressure, mph, gas, nothing, what would cause that?
Good video. It’s nice to see you fix a fancy car.
Maybe that little spring was getting worn?
