I’m glad the video’s helped out. Still have the car. I love it and drive it
daily. The Autozone struts are still holding up with no issues. I bought a
2006 Accord V6 6SP this year, and between the two, I’m building up some
great Honda knowledge.

I used this vid series to change all four shocks on my 2000 TL. Took a
little over 8 hours total because I had to remove one back and one front
and reinstall because I overlooked something. Overall not too challenging,
I did it in my garage with simple hand tools. Thanks a lot for the
knowledge and info.

Good job man. Well done!!

ceryaga says:

if i am replacing just the strut, could i just separate the fork from the
strut, push the fork down and take the strut out and put in the new one??
or will taking the fork out be necessary??

dominoebf says:

I’m not sure if there is a difference.

You are an awesome commentator…damn I almost felt like I was back
attending my automotive tech class in High ?School. Thanks

I changed the rear shocks they were a little tougher than the front. I had
to remove the bottom part of my rear seat to get to a bolt on the side that
removes the side corners of the top part of the back seat.once those are
removed it shows a pocket to get to the top bolts of the strut. If you have
a small hand you can remove the bolts if not your going to half to remove
the plastic piece that goes across the top of the back seat right before
the speakers.as for the bottom there is a bolt going

u know u should use both jack stands at once. i am just saying.

brianklarich says:

through the strut remove that. Then remove a second bolt that holds a
bracket that the shock is screwed into. then I had to removed a arm that
goes towards the back of the car near the muffler,so I had room to get the
strut out. I not a mechanic so I don’t know what the correct name of every
part is and I don’t have a video camera sorry. I don’t know if the tl is
the same but maybe this can help when you do it.

dominoebf says:

Hey there. This did not post in my e-mail, so sorry about the late
response. It sounds like independent noises to me. Steering wheel might be
the steering shaft. Do a search on 2004-2008 Grand Prix for steering shaft
noise issues. They tend to make noise and you have to spray lithium grease
down a protective boot to make it go away. The outside noise sounds like
cold bushings, or old bushings. Spray some WD-40 on a couple of bushings to
see if it makes any improvement. Good luck.

Good video, you should check out my video i have a suspension problem maybe
you know how to fix

TheRA3D85 says:

I have 04 Tl and I need to change the struts it’s the same as 03 Tl ?

dominoebf says:

I agree with you. As I look over the video, I only have one side up on a
stand. I’m not sure why I did it this way, but it makes better sense to use
both to have the front of the car evenly supported with the weight properly
balanced. Thanks.

dominoebf says:

Glad to hear it. I didn’t know the TSX would be the same. I haven’t done
the back struts, they are still in good condition. If you figure it out,
please let me know.

brianklarich says:

I have a 2006 tsx and it was the same as your car.thanks for the help your
video helped me change my struts. Have you done the rear struts? I cant
seem to get them out.
