We bought the cheapest Porsche Cayman S in the world and it’s a MESS! We bought this car sight unseen at auction for dirt cheap with mechanical damage. We now realize it was cheap for a reason… This is the first startup after a long time of sitting and maybe the engine is blown? This is a total disaster! We have bought so many cheap Porsche Boxsters and have gotten so lucky, but I think that good luck has run out?

Why are you wasting so much time , just boroscope it and see the condition of the engine yourselves
Those are Victor Innsbruck wheels. I have em on my 996.
Love the F-18s
I think it was the extra oil once it settled I change the plugs though
I would scope it and do a compression and leak down test. If those are good replace the separator and change out oil and plugs.
i guess youll be owning 2 LS3 porsches lol
Why not engine swap it
Cayman/ boxsters the miatas of porsche lol.
did you check the coolant for intermix? did you check the vacuum on the oil cap when at idle?
Did you check the content of the fuel tank and that the gas is not contaminated by something like oil or whatever?
He put all that extra oil he didn't need which caused the oil to be pushed past the rings so HE BLEW IT HIS SELF
I put a stereo in a Carmen and it was obviously too small. I'm 6'2 and barely fit, I know you guys are that's why I mentioned.
I wouldn't buy a 987.1 "S" even in mint condition. The bore scoring, "d-chunk" and other issues are just too much to worry about. Much better off either saving money by getting a 2.7L or spend a little more to get a 987.2 with the better engine.
