In this video I will be showing how to remove your 8.4″ UConnect system to repair a delaminating screen. This fix will work on all Dodge, Chrysler, Ram trucks that have the 8.4″ UConnect system. The bubble formed by the adhesive breaking down can cause your Infotainment system to start randomly “ghost” pushing buttons, which is annoying at least, at most can be dangerous…my system actually started making random phone calls and changing settings such as the climate controls….

The bubbling and ghost touching is now gone; however, now my touch screen isn’t functioning. Anyone else have this issue?
Man I’ve been racking my brain for the past last year trynna figure out how to fix this without spending $1000, appreciate it.
Just completed this & I’m still having the ghost touching issue 🙁 Not sure what I did wrong.. anybody else?
So the double tape you used you only put it on the edges?
Done this step by step thought it was gonna work had high hopes it’s working as far as it not jumping around everywhere now but its not recognizing my touch commands maybe I need to redo the tape
Same thing with mine is doing the same thing
I'm reading alot about using alcohol to get the glue off. What about initially using wd40. Wd40 works well on adhesive glue to remove. Then for final clean with alcohol.
Don't you think this is the manufacts faults? i'm having the issue on my Hyundai Tucson 2018 … it first started small and then it became realy big… and ofcourse out off warrenthy and for multimedia screens its limited to 3 years! they want to replace the full unit? 1000€ like come on try and fix these things the easy way.
Thanks for the video. Did it today, worked like a charm.
Were there any radio outputs on the back? (I want to add a amp before the factory amp or splice in a line output converter).
Just bought a 2018 Chrysler 300 and I’m having the delam issue. I’m just wondering what the point of the adhesive is if it works without the adhesive even being on there at all after removing it?
Mine doing same thing
How long does this fix work? Does the two sided tape separate eventually and cause the same issue? Just wondering if I’d have to do this multiple times? Great video!
the stereo on my charger started by shutting off out of the blue. then it got to the ghosting problem after I noticed bubbling on the screen. now it dosent do anything anymore it just shuts off n on on its own. and randomly started killing my battery, I did the removal of glue and still shuts off n on on its own. how do you know its the actual digitizer that's bad or the main brain of the stereo. also forgot to mention I didn't put the double-sided tape on it I don't know if that will cause an issue which I doubt
Thanks for the video dodges shit is fucking garbage. And 99% of the search result match dodges builds. Never again. Thank you for being the 1%
put mine back in and no touch screen now. someone help lol
What are the odds this is covered under warranty. Seems like a manufacturers problem for their parts not working correctly.
Hey! I ended up havig ordering a new LCD screen + digitizer altogether but when I plug everything back in, the backlight turns on but doesn't display anything. Is there something I need to do to get it to work?
I am following your tutorial currently, on the digitizer I’m seeing a faint golden line assuming i need to avoid covering that with the tape?
Great job! Thanks!
Can you use acetone on the digitizer?
