How to Install a GM 3 Wire Alternator on a Tractor (Farmall 560 Gas)

In this video, I go through the process of installing a GM internally regulated alternator in place of a factory-style generator. Using only the power wire, exciter wire, and the key on-switch. This is on a late 1950’s model and uses two simple kits that are available online or at most parts stores. I hope you enjoy and if you have any questions about the process I’ll happily answer in the comments!

Thank you so much for the diagram. My Massey Harris Pony has an earlier conversion to the same alternator, but lights and switches were abandoned. Now that the alternator and other electrical components have failed, I redrew the original diagram but was unsure how the three wire alternator affected the original schematic. I appreciate the time you took making the video as it will help me in wiring my Pony correctly.
