The Ferrari Testarossa has a common problem with hot start issues.
This can be particularly embarrassing when you stop for fuel or something and then go to restart the car a few minutes later.
The issue is generally caused by the Starter Motor Solenoid
In this video I show you a quick and simple fix than can be done in less than an hour.

My experience is that the only solution is to put a relay on the solenoid, because there are a lot of voltage loss from the battery to the solenoid.
I need to install a relay for my 80's Alfa, also. Alfa routed power through the ignition switch and that also fails due to this. Where does Ferrari route power through? My old BMW routed it through the hazard switch, which was also a crap idea.
BTW, is there an aftermarket for your cars? Any small, hi-torque starters?
That's ironic, I just did a starter video on my Mondial. I was having the same issue at the petrol station…"not nice". My Mondial already had a relay on the starter, nevertheless, I replaced that, for it was really old. I also had the starter rebuilt. I have a TR starter on my car… works great. I also decided to replace the battery which was quite old as well. Haven't been back to the service station yet…not really looking forward to it. Looks like I'll jerry can it for the test and save myself the embarrassment. I know how you feel… Cheers, Marc
Could you use Dielectric grease for the barrel that you polished in the solenoid, to reduce friction?
Glad to see you back, missed you.
