Hi Guys,
This video will show you, how I replaced the camshaft oil seal. Thanks for watching and please subscribe. Please feel free to contact me if you need any help. Steps for Replacing the Camshaft oil seal
1. Remove the timing cover. (Disconnect the negative battery terminal and disconnect crankshaft sensor)
2. Rotate the crankshaft and align the camshaft to TDC position, double check with the marked symbols.
3. Secure the camshaft sprocket/Timing belt with cable ties, make sure timing belt is not removed and stays in its place.
4. Use the special sprocket holder tool and loosen the camshaft bolt. (use a rag or towel and cover the water pump area, make sure nothing gets in there! very important!)
5. Remove the camshaft seal, replace it with new one, clean the area, and install new seal (Oil the lip of the camshaft seal).
6. Install the camshaft sprocket back, and tighten the bolt as per specs. (make sure, timing belt is aligned)
7. Double check everything is aligned and TDC positions match with the marks indicated on the camshaft sprocket and valve cover.
8. Remove the cable ties.
9. Start the engine, do not rev it, inspect everything.
Do you have any vidoes on replacing the fuel filler neck on a Lancer? I can't even find instructions for that procedure.
Do you have part number for the seal under the camshaft seal? I believe it's called crankshaft seal?
Did you have any issues with timing or timing moving by just ziptie instead of taking everything off?
At 0. 21 you Put : Oil Leak from Crankshaft and Camshaft, but you Replace only Cam , why ?
Important Questions that No one did :
1- How many miles has the Car When replaced ?
2- Is the First time for Seal change or Second ?
I can't find any info anywhere on how to take off the crankshaft sprocket so I can replace the crankshaft seal.
how do you take off the crankshaft sprocket?
so, you didint remove the whole timing belt right? you leaved it hooked up to the autotensioner and everything and manage to place the gear back?
Ok nice in to the point
