The horn in our cars may not matter all that much to some but they do come in handy. My horn has seen some wear and quit working. In this video I show you how I got mine working again.

thanks for the video!!!! this was exactly the problem on my 06 grand prix. tried this before paying a shop 145.00 (est) to fix mine.
The horn in my girlfriend's 05 Grand Prix hasn't worked for quite a long time. Maine is an inspection state and everything must work. I watched your video and followed what you said. Everything was correct, socket sizes, pulling the light, unhooking the horn. I cleaned the connections, added some electrical grease and hooked it up. It worked perfectly. Thank you taking the time to post this. Well done!
i have a 06 GXP when i give power to the horn from the fuse it blows but dont work when i lock the doors or from the steering wheel any ideas of what it can be
Thanks… I will try this. The only extra step I would have added is to apply some dielectric grease or vaseline to the connections that you cleaned up, before reinstalling, to keep moisture out and prevent future oxidation.
I have a question about the horn assembly on my friends car. She has a 2007 Chevy Impala LS 3.5 Flex Fuel (wiring is exactly the same as the Grand Prix shown in the video).
Her wiring harness for the horn assembly was severed when she struck a parked vehicle, avoiding a dog who darted out in front of her.
I have replaced the front passenger light assembly and will be replacing the right front passenger fender panel in the next few day; however, I would really like to fix her horn issue so her vehicle can pass inspection.
So, with the all of the black wires to horn assembly being severed how can I repair the wiring?
If you're needing to know if she has the tabs that snap into place over the high and low horn connectors, only one tab connector is available, but it's severed where the wire harness connects.
Do I need to purchase a new wiring harness to replace both tabs, as well as the harness connector? Also, with the wiring harness being severed, which wires do I connect the harness to, to ensure a grounding, so that both the high and low horns are receiving the proper amount of voltage?
Any suggestions or help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
I've been searching YouTube for hours, and your video is the closet thing I've come to toward a resolution.
Thank you,
Chrissy
My horns have stopped working, than worked for a bit and now dead again. did you smoke your headlights?
Mine didn't even have the harness hooked up. My horns look different than yours
Mine has sounded like yours when you plugged the one horn in. High Pitched. Assuming the horn location is the same for my Monte SS, then I will pull it apart and take a look. This video helped. Thanks. PS, I took a video of my car for you, but my iPhone wont let me email the video to youtube because it is "too long". Ill figure it out one of these days. Thanks.
mine hasn't worked in like 2 years maybe Ill fix it lol thanks for the vid!
