I’ve got a 03 Tribute that I need to service the Transmission.
Its a DIY job for me but certainly something I haven’t done before.
As I scoped it out..I saw that that pan is sitting vertical. I wanted to
ask you since you said you serviced the transmission..
How did you get access to remove the pan cover? Did you work from both the
bottom of the car and the top?
Did you remove the upper and lower coolant hoses? Heater hose also?
Could you offer some help and what I should look for or be careful of?
Thanks

so my Moms’ escape had an issue where the transmission was constantly
switching gears. Turns out that it was a misfire code. So they replaced
the spark plugs and updated the software in the computer and everything
worked. lucky I guess.
Is that part what Ford refer to as the Transmission Range Sensor (TRS)…?
Sounds like a hard plastic cover/shroud is in order for the top of this
part due to it’s susceptibility to failure yet again from fluids and/or
acids.
My Ford Escape feels like it’s chugging when I go uphill or cruise at a
steady speed on flat ground. I really don’t think Ford did their homework
on these transmissions.
good job…………..
Nice!
