BTW you are better off runing Mobil 1 0W-20, it is superior to 5w-20 in
every way.
Mobil 1 used to be good, many years ago when it was a group lV oil. Now
its crap. It shears down too quickly, doesn’t resist high heat well, it
oxidizes. Track cars have spun bearings while using it. Check some uoa’s
on Mobil 1 and find a better solution for your oil needs.
Kara0ki, u do realize that the only filters u have to fill with oil are
diesels and turbo cars mainly cuz of the turbochargers. The rest are not
necessary since there wont be air pockets from a small filter on an acura
I use a blend of vegetable oil and sesame oil. Great smell when i rev the
engine…. Kidding.
How do you not know that Mobil 1 is good the day I was born I knew right
away that Mobil 1 is cars milk. Only a few people that drink a lot or hard
liquor, smoke, shoot guns and have facial hair will be able to put Mobil 1
in there car.
I have rav4, is at 45k, I been using conventional castrol gtx, so any
problem switching to mobil 1-fully synthetic this late? Your thoughts are
appreciated
I have an 08 TL and I am also running Mobil 1. I love how my care runs and
it does indeed run smoother. I’m sticking to Mobil 1 for life. Great video.
Thanks.
how do you do that do you have a video of that?
me using mobil1 too.. drain it at 10k++ km.. haha still good!
Ok
@samiamred Thanks for the info.
ooops…u forgot to fill the new filter with oil before installing it.
i love your flip flops
Nice video. Thanks.
Interesting note. I found that Mercedes has a sticker for Mobil 1 synthetic
as recommendation for their vehicles.
@lexusfan100 I decided to switch since many of my friends has seen
improvement with Synthetic oil. The Synthetic definitely has given my car a
more smoother ride only. I switched at 45K. Some people say once you
switched you should not go back to dyno. After I tried it, I won’t be going
back also. For Dyno or regular oil, I think Castrol has the best one. But I
know somebody with Castrol Dyno has caused his engine seal to leak not sure
if it’s related or not.
@netman88 ya i have heard that too about not switching back n forth,,but
with the price and all i think i will stay with castrol gtx…i never had
any problem with using gtx..its pretty expensive in canada with taxes and
all :(..regualr for me!!
What about Royal Purple? I heard alot of good reviews on it.
Good catch. Yes not job for a regular wrench nut. I didn’t mention, I’m
using a Metrinch nut (special type). Metrinch tool system grips the nuts
not on the edges and drives only on the flats and not on the corners.
Very informative video! Enjoyed it
Mobil 1 is the best oil you can put in your car
azimmey is correct. Also for anyone reading…don’t use a Crescent /
Adjustable Wrench because it rounds off the corners of the drain plug bolt.
You don’t need to do that. We have never done that and never have any
issues.
@netman88 is there a difference in using mobil 1 ?? adding HP power?
Good idea to stick with mobil 1 since you have a turbo car.
You are OK
you should try and get your hands on a fantastic oil the is made in
australia. Its called Penrite, so just goodle penrite oil and it should
come up. I use Penrite HRP 10 in my car and it makes castrol edge look like
sandpaper
Probably best to read the owner’s manual. Every car have different specs.
For Honda, I use the maintenance minder which seems close to 6K miles.
@Hungweilo thanks 😉
Good tip is to partly fill the oil filter with oil to prevent any damage to
engine on initial start up after oil change.
when using mobil 1 every 1 year changing the oil ?
@playstation2bigs I don’t know it adds HP but the vehicle is definitely
more smooth and quiet when driving or in idle mode.
Never use a rachet to remove oil plug, wrench only!
My Ford Ranger takes 5W-20 oil too and I have tried to find the 5 quart
jugs of oil and they are rare where I am. where I am not all places that
sells oil carries 5W-20 oil in the quart containers either
Mobil 1 i go 5 to 6 thousand on a oil change, oil is still in good
condition
if u notice conventional oil is super hot when drained mobile 1 is only
warm to the touch with the same drive time before draining
Same oil I use in my Integra but with K&N filter. Those Honda filters are
the same as Fram filters which are made by Honeywell
@Tentors Thanks for the feedback.
MOBIL 1 is better
@playstation2bigs Acura has the maintenance minder so I just follow that or
60K per vehicle.
i too have been using regular oil like mainly castrol so u still dont have
any problem in switching and how many miles are on ur car when u
switched..and also lets say i change it back to regular oil after using
synthetic oil (for some odd reason) is there any problem? like a big no no
for winter use..thanks
it’s good , I recommend it I never used mobile1.. but royal purple was good
in my 20 yr old civic. really worked well.
Does the oil indicator automatically reset itself or you have to reset it
someway???
Thanks for the feedback
6-7K and it’s still good.
I got a 2011 Mazda3 Sedan and I always noticed the Mazda Dealer put Cheap
Bulk Synthetic OW-20 and it feels like an old lady Mazda car, but I
switched to “Mobil Full Synthetic OW-20” and not only feels like great
driving also give you more Miles Per Gallon, there is a different between
one and another, I paid maybe an extra $20 bucks every 5,500 miles oil
change, but at the end It gave me about 400 to 497 Miles per Full Tank with
cheap bulk 0W-20 synthetic 297 to 320 so watch out Speed Racers.
I purchased them from Acura/Honda dealers via ebay. You can also buy them
directly from any Honda/Acura dealer. They use the same ones on
Acura/Hondas.
How often do you change your oil man
You have to reset it manually,
