Will this be the same as changing the Power steering hose in a Tiburon?!?! Please help.
I think I’m going to try this as soon as I find out if its my power steering pump or hose
I’ve gotta spare one to sell
Thanks so much for this video!
Great work dude, hey I own a Twin Turbo charge tiburon but I also need to flush the whole steering fluid off the car,any good tips you recommend
Thank you so much!
You are the man! Many thanks!!!!!
Thanks for this video. I just replaced my power steering pump on my 2002 Elantra. It went pretty well. The bolt you used an adjustable wrench on was a 24mm. I replaced the copper washers with new ones. I’ve heard using copper washers from the auto parts store is bad, but I didn’t have time to wait for oem ones to be delivered. If they leak, I’ll replace them. Thanks again!
What a mess! There is a pin hole leaking power steering fluid. (From overfilling). All belts soaking wet. How do I clean? Can I spray it down at the car wash???? Help!
No, but I’ll add that to the suggestions.
That wouldn’t hurt
Will you be doing a “How to replace the Oil Pump” on that same Elantra any soon?? That would be awesome!
What about flushing the fluid and bleeding the air out of the system by turning the wheel from lock to lock whilst on car jacks?
Well, you want good tension. They generally say, depending on the distance from pulley to pulley, that you want the belt to deflect a 1/4, or 1/2, an inch when you push on the belt. Seeing as how close the pulleys are together, I’d say you’d want the belt to only flex a 1/4 of an inch after you’ve tightened it up.
i think he means the belt starts to squeaking, when turning the wheel left or right.
i got this problem and about to fix it but i wanted to know if hondahowto1 knows how the tension should be on the belt of the steering pump. Hyundai elantra 02 gls.
The fluid is not dripping on the ground? If it’s not hitting the ground, your rack and pinion seals are leaking, and your boots are probably concealing the fluid.
Fist off I want to say thanks, I used your video on how to replace an alternator on a 01-06 Elantra and that saved me a lot of money. I had a question, my 05 Elantra is leaking power steering fluid and squealing, especially when i turn the wheel all the way to the right. Also it appears the power steering pulley stops spinning when the steering wheel is fully turned. I cant see where the fluid is coming from and wanted to see if you or someone can give me some advice. Thanks!
What do you mean the belt stops working?
Thanks
I have 2003 elantra gls and every time I turn the steering wheel the power steering pump belt stops working, any tips or advice, I think its the pump
Great video, easy explained
I’m sorry, I don’t understand your question. I will try my best to answer you if you can ask again with more detail.
Hey one thing I noticed… When I removed the bolt on the high pressure line, there appeared to be a hole through it which seemed to be something that should be facing the line itself. Is that right?
lol your very welcome, I’m glad I could help.
Thank you SO much!!!! Pump went out in my ’01 Elantra today and I was so happy to find this video out there! You saved me and many others a lot of money man. 😀
