Normally the window motors have so sort of brake inside of them to keep the window from falling down. It sounds as if the window motor is just bad and not the entire window regulator but you will have to open up the door to figure that out.
If I am not get any kind of sound from the motor is it probably just the motor and not the regulator as well? we tried to pull the window up ( it died when I had it rolled all the way down of course) and it wouldnt budge. Means a solid regulator then right?
Thanks for the help. Just changed the wife’s drivers motor.
Thank you so much!
The window regulator should hold it up into place.
when replacing my motor will i need to tape the window at the top or should it be fine and not fall?
Just wanted to post back and say thanks!
I ordered a regulator with motor about a month ago, followed your video guide and my power window has been good as new ever since.
You guys saved me over $400 and completely changed the way I look at auto repair. If I ever need more parts I’ll definitely be shopping with 1AAuto first.
Thanks for checking us out. Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Awesome guide. My dealership wanted $500 to replace the driver side window motor, but after seeing this guide and 1A’s motor pricing… I’m thinking of giving this a go very soon.
