So totally Awesome, I almost spent $175 labor to have this done, now I can
buy my wife dinner, flowers and a show or the van could use a new stereo
decisions decisions.
I hope Isabel made a cut @ the end of the tutorial.
Houston we have a solution to all our problems
The AC condenser on this particular year model is piggy backed to the front
of the radiator by way of U shaped hold down clips at the bottom and snap
on clips closer to the top of the radiator. If you are careful to first
unsnap the clips from the top section of the radiator using your fingers
while prying the condenser from the radiator they will come loose. Be
careful not to over pry the condenser from the radiator. The condenser can
then be pulled straight up and away from the radiator.

Isabel isn’t sure given the fact that they are six years apart. There could
be some differences in the way the radiator would come out plus the engines
are different sizes so the thermostat might be in a different place.
Compare the video with what your vehicle looks like and use your best
judgement. Good Luck!

Question for you: Another online source says- “the AC condenser has to come
out. Meaning the AC system would have to be discharged and charged up
again”. It doesn’t appear that you had to recharge the AC, is that correct?

cute vid. but remember to always wear your safety glasses. especially when
looking up from underneath to remove drain plugs, etc. automotive fluids
and chemicals are things you 100% DO NOT need in your eyes. like brake
fluid. it can blind you.
Cute. I wish more parents would teach their kids to be this
self-sufficient. My daddy taught me and I love him for that. I’m restoring
a 1981 pickup and that wouldn’t be possible without all the information my
pops taught me over the years. I saw this clip and just had to see this

The Ramps were purchased at Advance Auto Parts around 1995 and the red and
black extensions I think came from either Auto zone or Walmart. I don’t
even think the ramps are made anymore? I think they only make the plastic
kind now. The yellow ramps are all metal and reinforced and also weigh a
bit but are a very good set that has served me well for many years. Good
luck finding a set like them!

Great video!! But I do agree with kcnncb on the Dexcool……NOOOOOO!!!!,
been around that stuff in this business since It came out and it has caused
me more problems than anything else. In my opinion flush and fill with
universal type or good ole green. But that’s just my opinion. Cute kiddo, I
will have to try to do a video like this with one of my kids on outboards
or maybe when I rebuild the front end in my ole work truck. Thanks for

Great job Isabel. I was wanted to see how to change the radiator on my
Caravan and your video really helped. I showed your video to my 7 year old
daughter and she liked it a lot.
The Haynes manual instructs you to remove the front bumper and headlights
to access the Air conditioning condenser to release it from the radiator.
It also instructs you to remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid. As you
can see we were very careful with the flexible plastic bumper and grille
and managed to release the condenser from the radiator without the bumper
removal. A little improvising goes a long way!
