it, but still there, would love to know why if anyone has any idea
Great video! I would wear rubber gloves though because solvent isn’t good
for your skin to come in contact with and can lead to stuff like testicular
cancer in young guys.. Had a friend this happened to, but he made it
through it.

I am right there with you Fritxmerde… Great video, definitely schooled me
on cleaning my carb! I am having the exact issue motor fires up and as soon
as my i give it fuel it bogs and dies. Did you get the answer to your
problem last year?

@rasm146d Yes, the procedure is different for removing the carb and
disassembling it, but the cleaning process is the same
good explanation of each step and good camera work…great video!
I have the same motor, however I am having trobles. When I push the choke
back to off the motor dies. Unless I am running it at high RPMS. I can’t
get it to run at low RPM helpMy motor will only run at high RPMS. I
That, that and these two “things”??! Oh… 😉

Thanks, great how to, will reinforce classicoutboards , wear eye protection
when spraying, also having used petroleum products for many years without
gloves, I eventually got skin reactions in later years, wear nitriles or
latex, your partner will appreciate it too.
WOW, this video was a great help. I have a Tohatsu 9.8 4 stroke. I put
Tohatsu 9.8 into the search and it gave me this video along with some
others but I have to say that the engine on this 2005 merc looks the same
as my Tohatsu 9.8 as does the Carb. The instructions were great and helped
out a lot. Thanks!
can i do that on a 5hp 2stroke johnson, is it the same ?
you forgot to pull the idle mixture plug cap out and clean the passage,
major problem with these carbs
Just did the same thing on my 2006 F9.9M. carb was overflowing from trash
in float valve. Had to replace the fuel line also. It would not come off
the carb. I cut it length wise over the brass tube on the carb and had to
peel it off. It was fused to the brass tube so bad that rubber was torn
from the inside of the hose and adhered to the connection tube. I had to
scrape it off with a blade and sand the rest off with fine sandpaper. I
suspect ethanol in the gas. Runs great now. Thanks.
