Helpful video! I had most of the 7mm screws backed-out. Thanks to your
clip, I was able to quickly locate and remove the remaining fasteners. The
assembly pulled away almost like you described. One difference to share
with your viewers, the grill assembly gets caught up on the bottom left
corner (facing towards it) of the transmission cooler. Some patience and a
screwdriver were all that was needed to grant the clearance necessary to
remove the grill without issue or damage.

1A Auto Parts says:

@bcblls I believe it will, you may have to change headlights depending on
what your truck came with. Contact one of the posters below, I think
TheSmallGameHunter or brayden282 did something similar.

1A Auto Parts says:

@bcblls No problem, glad to help. Please check out our website or youtube
next time you need info or parts.

SneakyRussian32 says:

Can I put a 98 gmc grille on a 98 chev pickup?

Mark Joe says:

Nice video. I have a 98 C2500 with the same grille as in the video, but I
want to know if I can swap it out for the work truck grille. The work truck
grille is not chrome, just argent paint and it has one headlight on each
side…not the two rectangle lights.

1A Auto Parts says:

it may, you may want to compare the mounting points on the backside of the
grill to see if they match. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

ErikMartinez454 says:

@nodice333 yes it will, well on a chevy it did, same thing for a gmc sierra

Dillion Johnson says:

all u really need yall is a 5mm and a 7mm and a phillips or a t20 torx bit
depending on the year of ur chev

Tyler Sullivan says:

I have a 96 Yukon. Could I take my grill off and put a Chevy grill on the
same as the vid? Or will mods be required?

bcblls says:

nice video! i have an 89 chevy silverado step side, i want to install about
a 94-96 grille will it fit?

1A Auto Parts says:

If it’s a bolt you could try to remove it from underneath the front bumper,
of possibly remove one of the headlights to gain access.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may be able to.

Nils Andre Draugedal says:

Just behind the grille on my Silverado 1998, there is something that is
leaking oil. I don’t know the name of this part. It’s a rib formed
(20cmX20cm) peace, with two metalt tubes, one in each side on the bottom.
It is leaking oil from the right side of this part. What is this? Is it
critical?

Will Cotopolis says:

how do u remove the bolts behind the marker light!?!? i cant get my ratchet
in there

1A Auto Parts says:

The mounting points on the 93 may be different.

wisnergilbert says:

My truck as the single headlights. Is it possible to switch to this setup?
What would I do about the wiring for the dual light set up

1A Auto Parts says:

@nodice333 This isn’t something that we have tired, it may depending on the
model of the GMC.

RustyShackelford777 says:

wow, i feel like a dumbass, i just realized there was a video suggestion to
the side. I got the problem resolved btw, thanks alot i subbed!

1A Auto Parts says:

I believe there are some differences between the grilles depending upon the
year of the vehicle.

Nils Andre Draugedal says:

Then it is the oil cooler. When i look at it, it looks like i should change
the cooler and the lines. Do you have a video of this job? Is it hard?

Dansz71sierra says:

how did u get the headlight out without already haveing the grill off????
im putting new headlights and my truck and i have been told the whole
grille area needs to come off

SHPRNCHR says:

Thanks for making the video I have a 92 chevy and want to install an 89
grill with dual square headlamps will the head lamps fit on the 92 which
has single square lamps

treva111 says:

I liked this video. The fellow was prepared before he started filming and
the instruction plain and simple. Good job and thanks.

mud4x4 says:

thanks for the video great job

nodice333 says:

will a 94 gmc grill direct swap with the 94 silverado grill?

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to compare the mounting tabs between the two to see if they
are the same. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

bcblls says:

@1aauto ok, thanks!

1A Auto Parts says:

Unfortunately we do not have a video for the lines but the hardest part of
the whole job is making sure nothing gets rounded off. Before doing any of
the work you should soak all the fittings in penetrating fluid for a least
a day to break up all the rust and corrosion.

1A Auto Parts says:

@brayden282 You should be able to get something that will work in a
hardware store. Go for the black plated finish so they “hide” in your
grille.

wynyard2 says:

Took my grille off to change the whole driver’s side headlight assembly.
When I went to put the grille back on it didn’t fit very well over the
headlight (rubbing on outside of both drivers and passengers light
assemblies). As well the two outermost screw holes on top of the grille
didn’t line up well. Comparing the old headlight to the new one I really
can’t see any difference so I’m not sure why it won’t fit. Am I missing
something simple??

Carl Johnston says:

will this year model grille in the video bolt up to my 89 silverado

KB7UZBDS says:

SAVED THE DAY THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO

imafan2b says:

Will the 95 and up silverado grill fit on my 93?

Manny Molina says:

Is it possible to install a 1989 gmc grille onto a 1996 silverado?

bigtames says:

some chevys dont have bolts on the bottom they have tabs..jus letting u
guys know

1A Auto Parts says:

The tabs for the 1989 are different then the 1996 unfortunately so it would
not work unless you made your own mounting tabs as well as replace the
headlights and side markers to the later model.

1A Auto Parts says:

It sounds like it may be an oil cooler, or it the fluids red a tranny
cooler.

1A Auto Parts says:

It’s a valance, we currently do not carry these on our website. If your’s
is broke, you could try to get one from your local salvage yard. hope this
helps you out.

1A Auto Parts says:

Not sure if you ordered it from us, but it should fit fine. Check where is
mounts to see if there’s some type of adjustments to shift it ouut of the
way. If you did purchase it from us, and there’s a major issue, call our
sales line at 888-844-3393 and our sales staff can help you with it.

Grajeda says:

Those far left/right bottom screws were such a pain. The bottom middle one
too.

1A Auto Parts says:

@SHPRNCHR You have to change more than just the grille. I believe you might
have to change the radiator support

1A Auto Parts says:

@Dansz71sierra Too replace the headlight assemblies you have to remove the
grill. Removing the grille is not difficult. Mike

imafan2b says:

Will the 94 and up silverado grill fit on my 93?

1A Auto Parts says:

There could be a difference in the fit if it’s not listed as fitting your
particular model year.

John Cundiff says:

The grille has tabs that connect to the valance. All you have to do it undo
those tabs that hook it to the valance THEN unbolt the valance. took me two
hours to figure that out:)

Manny Molina says:

Well, we were going to do a full grille and light swap. When you say the
mounting tabs are different, what do you mean? Is it something I could just
break the clips off and just use the bolts to hold it on?

Hunter Rice says:

How do you get the Bolt out of the little space right behind the bottom
half of the grille???

RustyShackelford777 says:

Is there a video or way to take the top headlights cover off? mine are
yellowing and i just bought some cleaner for them, but im sure I will have
to clean the inside of the surface. Is there a video or can you simply
explain how? (dont wanna mess anything up) thanks!
