Oh no. After thirty years of possible multiple owners and different people shifting that lever, 2 plastic clips under the dash let go. Best to blame the manufacturer though. Most would be pleased it performed as long as it did. Unlike an o-ring in a space shuttle that didn’t make it 1000 feet yet no one is calling out NASA.

when to you start and stop with the nickel and dime repairs? ignore one little fix after another, just ask your self, "why do i drive junk?" The brand of crap wagon dont matter
Honest it's just a couple of Clips up under the transmission it's a little b** to get to cuz you got to take the dash apart cuz at some point you're going to have to adjust so you can see the parking to drive 321 but it's worth it
