I need to replace my whole passenger side assembly. If I buy a used unit can I use the same process to reinstall or do I need to remove the housing unit and install it separately. Does this make sense?

@davejohnson3860 says:

Worked like a charm.. Future reference. Use the long screw driver to open up your existing hose on new gasket..screws will love you! Nice vide both sides done in 35 mins

On the w211 up tp 2006 (I have a 2006 E320 CDI) there are several different types of anti theft screws in use. On mine, even though I have the torx with the center hole I was quickly disappointed because Mercedes was apparently using 5 star torx screws. But they are available on ebay and Amazon…its just buying ANOTHER doohicky that you will rarely use again afterwards,

@ahmadj1267 says:

Which tool did you use to remove the screws ? I’m not able to find it.

Thank you for this video. Other than my Homeresque hunt for a TS20 bit, the work went off without a hitch thanks to your instruction. My 06 E55 AMG thanks you!!

@fraeharrubah6503 says:

Very informative and clear. Thank you and i wish all instruction videos are like it.

@jamiealvarez3845 says:

Simple and easy fix. Make sure the area where the gasket is in contact with the body gets cleaned well before the new gasket is installed. Much appreciated guideline

@TLP202 says:

I have a 98 E320 and need to replace both gaskets as well as adjust the spring on the passenger side. Do you have any recommendations?

@lw4mma says:

Great video. I just did this on mine. One tip I can give for people: Instead of cutting the hole on new gaskets to get the wire harnesses through, you can use needle nose pliers and open them inside the hole to expand it and slide the wire harnesses through. It's easy if you can set the pliers open on something to keep outward pressure or have an assistant.

Bought both of mine for less than $18 bucks! Thanks for the tutorial. Well done sir! Also, new subscriber here. As an owner of now a W211, a W140 and a C140, I look forward to future videos! Keep up the good work!
