Very informative video, Thanks. I have a 2001 Accord that I took care of really well since I bought it. It looks and rides fantastic, only thing the repair guy says the frame is rotted just like yours. He quoted over 2 thou to fix it. Breaks my heart. I read on the net that this problem is caused by a faulty air conditioner drain or something. Honda should do a recall. I mean how many of these are still on the road?
not useful to sandblast loose parts, do electrolysis as clean it can be.
Yo where you from
Thanks man! i think that all i need. Honda really needs to recall mine but that probably won’t happen. Thanks again!
I would guess like most cars you would jack up the front end, secure it behind the subframe. Support the engine & transmission (you can lay lumber across your fenders and chain to it). Disconnect everything from the subframe (mounts, control arms, steering rack, etc.) then drop the subframe out. Installation is the opposite. Pre-soak rusty bolts & be prepared to replace any old rusty exhaust parts that may break once disturbed. I highly suggest joining a forum for Honda specific help. Good luck!
Hey i really need your help! I have a honda that has a ruined subframe. But i do not know the process in taking off the subframe. Like is there a special way to support the car and engine?? Any advise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
