Any chance you have part numbers for tailgate struts for V60 II 2019? Am I right to guess the replacement process would be very similar for V60?
what is the possibility of manual gas struct replaced by electrically operated struts?
This video was super helpful yesterday, August 29, 2025. It was a breeze to replace my struts, but I noticed something: you don’t need to remove the clips for the new struts (minute 4:39). Just place them and push them down, and they’ll be set.
I ordered the non-OEM version from Amazon…. they do not work ! made in china and bad quality… I ordered the OEM Volvo parts and they worked perfectly…
Thanks so much for this video! Just changed out mine on my own and I have no mechanical knowledge. I did find that if you leave the clips on that come with the new parts, you can just snap on the strut easily without having to replace the clips. I did that on one side and it was a little annoying but doable…so for the other side I wanted to see if they would just snap on without removing the clips and it did. Thanks again!

My dad's XC40 has had an issue with the right strut since the day he got it. Now, with the car being 5 years old it literally broke off, the whole strut.

Please help. I ordered the part from Amazon as you recommended. I replaced the old struts on my 2020 volvo xc40 and the rear tailgate is not closing and opening completely
