Today we are working on a 2017 Volkswagen Caddy equipped with a 1.4 TGI-CNG petrol engine (engine code CPWA). The vehicle has nearly 100,000 kilometers on the odometer. The customer complained about a drop in coolant level, and upon inspection we discovered a leak from the water pump. This issue may occur either through the drain hole or at the joint between the thermostat housing and the pump.

In this video, we replace the coolant pump module. The new pump is installed together with a toothed drive belt, located on the rear side of the camshaft and driven by a gear wheel. Special attention is required for correct installation and belt tensioning, which must be performed only with the crankshaft set at Top Dead Center on cylinder one, using a 10 mm hex key.
