I'm about to give up on my GX 470, because I can't weld,and rust is pretty bad in some spots. Runs, drives, stops,and climbs great though.

Is that safe to do? I’m also gonna have to work on the frame and on my car the frame holds the full engine and I’m scared to death if that engine falls mid drive it would crush me

Welding new metal to rusty sht. Hw long do you guarantt your work for ??
Why are you welding on top of rusted metal when you weld steel to stainless steel it infects it and will start to rust
there's a good reason this is ILLEGAL in many States !!

Why don’t they clean up the rust on that frame. Weld the crack then put a big patch to study it.
When I worked for Toyota I changed roughly 30 frames. The most expensive one was 100k after we were done. Everything we broke we replaced new.
