do we really need to change the rotors? I think Toyota design this front brake for u to just replace pads even dont need to take caliber or piston off

You make it look so easy! Did you notice an increase in braking performance over the stock pads and rotors? Breaking seems to be a bit of a weakness on my 2021 4R.
I did this 2 years ago expecting it to be just like my Tacoma- wasted so much time on the 4Runner because I didn't have a swivel joint for my 1/2" impact, of all tools. I had to turn the wheel to get tool clearance- I think there is generally less space in the wheel wells, which is why you have poor turning radius on 4Runner compared to the 2nd gen Tacomas.
