I always replaced the serpentine belt in our 2001 Saturn SL2 applying the tensioner tool (I have the same as in your film, fm HF) from the top. So I ended on the AC pulley. It was hard, but somehow I did it, thinking to cut that long handle once and have the tensioner to be turned on larger angle. I also have an expensive tool for that purpose and tried today same way, fm the top. And it was just a nightmare. That long HF tool also didn't work. I'll do tomorrow fm/the bottom, ending on the Crank Shaft. I also did couple times before the way you do, but had impression that the right way is from the top. I see my mistake now. I just worry that the serpentine belt will stretch during the night time, since I left it partially engaged on the AC Pulley. Thank you for posting your very useful film.
Thanks for the information. My son has a 2001 Saturn SL2. I'm about to change the serpentine belt and this video will help. Have you ever replaced the tensioner pulley and idler pulley? The belt kit I bought has those included and I would think that a new tensioner pulley would be a good idea on a 23 year old car right? My sons car belts squeal a LOT and I think that may be the cause. Thanks again!
Thanks for the video. Very helpful

Servicing the transmission fluid & filter on these is even easier than replacing the serpentine belt…
does the sl2 use the same belt as a sw2 it’s just the wagon version
