Important info! Jerrett left a comment on the short video mentioning needing 5mm spacers for the correct tension per the Elegoo website. Just know at the time of making this video there was no 5mm spacers mentioned in the replacement kit instructions. So at the time, this was correct info according to the instructions. With that said, the tensioning is great and I haven't had any problems with it. But I will keep it in mind the next time I have to change the ACF. Thanks go to @JerrettKehano for bringing it up and letting us all know about the change that Elegoo put out in regard to using 5mm spacers. Kudos JerrettKehano.
Great video. I did the exact same thing, using a star config for tightening the screws but my ACF film was pretty loose…..1st new film scrapped š Im gonna have to figure out how to pull the film tighter before I screw it down, otherwise it seems to get a couple of very slight waves in it and isnt anywhere near as tight as the original. You've added an update about spacers…..but where to put them?
Be sure not to poke the f@$in film with your driver when putting the frame back inā¦. GDAMMMMMMMIT

a friend gave me a good suggestion: when you've finished changing the ACF, put alcohol inside the vat, with a paper towel underneath, and leave it for at least 15 minutes, just to make sure there aren't any leaks.
I did this today, and your video was extremely helpful.
One tip I would offer is to push the screws down with your thumbs to break the film as you're reassembling, before you use an Allen wrench.
I tried pushing them with the Allen wrench, but it just wasn't working. The first time, the screw popped out and disappeared into the ether (fortunately, Elegoo had provided a couple of spares in their tool kit). If I'd continued to try to puncture it with me allen wrench, I'm afraid it might have jumped out and punctured my film.

I noticed that you didn't use a sponge to pre tension the film when installing. Is this the correct procedure now? I've come from the original Mars, so it might have changed.
Thank you Bear… ruined my second one in 2 months still getting acquainted with slicing support limits, AA, detail. There are a lot of things people DONT TELL you upfront with resin printing. When its going good it goes, once there is a hiccup seems there are minor issues all over. Its bs, a tiny support in the vat ruins the acf , puts a Divit in it. I stir after every print and I didn't feel any debris.
BTW TEXTURE OR FROSTY SIDE OF ACF GOES TOWARD THE SCREEN, the smooth side up into the vat.

You donāt use a small sponge or any type of spacer to put under your film so it has some slack that way it doesnāt pull me tight when you put the rack back on and screw it down

I commented a while back about needing to do this, but… didn't. Finally got around to doing it this morning and my first new FEP print is going now. I won't know for a bit if it was successful, but I will update. Maybe. I may also completely forget to, but if anything that's a good sign.
But your guide helped a lot, especially with orientation of the new film. The instructions on the label are… less than helpful which is what led me here in the first place.

I got one of these a couple of weeks ago. My second resin printer. Apparently I either got a bad unit or did something wrong, but long story short I already need to replace the screen protector and the ACF. It pains me to see what a well, pain it is. My first resin printer was a little Mono 2 and the FEP was already pre-installed into a frame so there were a lot less screws and a lot less cleaning. But at least now I know how to do it. Thanks.
hey there, I got a change in feps a while back and just now need to change it but I looked at the pack I have and although the thickness and temps are the same, it doesn't specify the machine . Its called a '' FEP 2.0 release film liner for Elegoo saturn LCD printer''. I'd imagine this will work fine but maybe you know more then me and I should order a specific saturn 3 ultra first?
I followed instructionsā¦. Havenāt tested it yet. 99% sure I still did it wrong. Cheers for the vid!

My replacement ACF rocked up today and I undid all the screws and went to open the package to grab one and I realized I ordered the ones for the mars and not the Saturn!
Just ordered the right ones this time and I;m returning the wrong ones back to Amazon but now I have to wait till Tuesday for them to rock up so now I can't print till Tuesday afternoon at the earliest
I need to replace my screen on my Elegoo Saturn 4 ultra and I just ordered the 5 pack of screens from Amazon along with an exacto knife
P.S in the video you said the shiny part faces upwards so when I change my film I will mark the bottom of the place to ensure I put it back together with the shiny part facing upwards

Thanks for the instructions video. I need to replace the film tomorrow and was a bit worried about the lack of pre-drilled holes as I was used to those from the Photon Mono days. Glad to see that it is a self-correcting issue.
