DIY SNES Daemonbite adapter build tutorial for MiSTer FPGA – Use your OEM SNES Controllers on MiSTer

In this video we build a DIY Daemonbite adapter for OEM Super Nintendo/Super Famicom (SNES) controllers to be used on MiSTer FPGA. We’ll go over the parts used and take you through the entire assembly, programming and testing process.

This video is part of a series I am working on that will provide instructional videos on how to build DIY Daemonbite adapters to be used with MiSTer and/or PC. I will also be creating videos for adapters to be used for NES, N64, Genesis and Saturn controllers. I designed individual cases (for 3D printing) for those adapters as well, which I plan to make available for download soon. Don’t forget to subscribe and turn on notifications to know when those videos go live.

Daemonbite adapters are reasonably inexpensive to build and the difficulty level is not off the charts. These adapters are essentially plug & play with MiSTer FPGA and only minor configuration is necessary in the MiSTer menu. Finally, input lag is extremely minimal, so these adapters are great for the majority of users. Bonus is that unlike SNAC/SNAX adapters, you can control the MiSTer menu system with controllers connected via Daemonbite adapters.

Don’t forget to also check out the new 24-bit analog I/O board for MiSTer by Retrocastle. I built a brand new MiSTer utilizing this board and you can find the video link below:

Thanks for the vid. I would love to see a tutorial that shows you how to make one of the 3-in-1 or 4-in-1 adapters that you see on Etsy.
