Have given up wasting time trying to take dipstick tube out on old rust belt cars, it can be done leaving it in. Sometimes loosening subframe makes it easier to get those 4 bolts above subframe with a 1/4 drive 13 universal. Unfortunately there's no slack in the sensor cable to do this in the car. Can be done in V6s and maybe XWDs but haven't tried yet. Both tonneau rams leak and fail (occasionally the little front one), getting them rebuilt is highly recommended. NO just replacing the O rings does not work. Huge psi will blow out the end caps.

How do you actually remove the sensor?

@Allthingspatriots101-rf2je says:

Noooo why wouldn’t you put 0w40 in it? Just curious is there a reason I know it’s an 05 not an 03 but would’ve assumed 0w would be better?

Might sell my lime cv.

@laurat1129 says:

Since my '99 9-3 cv got rear-ended two yrs ago (3rd bumper plus new trunk!), I believe the impact also loosened the cv hydraulic line along the pass. side, among other things (ofc, insurance doesn't care). It started leaking, definitely not engine oil. Last year, the top needed new motor. A few years before that, new pistons and tubes. So naturally, this year I thought we'd be good to go come Spring…

But, no! The other day, I tried to put the top down, not the first time this season, but it got stuck mid-cycle and wouldn't go up or down (soft-top error). Thus, it's down for now and back in the garage (rainy season). It must be that line again, and I guess I'll also have to check the fluid reservoir. So thanks for this timely video, and I look forward to seeing more content on your friend's Saab.

i just repaired my hydraulic cylinder. Used a Dremel and cut off the endcap. Took out the plunger. Replaced the O-Ring. The old o-ring looked like it was starting to disintegrate. Followed one of the you tube videos online . They said it should take 1/2 hr but took me a few hours. Most likely i'll have to do the other ones soon so i should be able to the next one fairly quick.

Great job, Jacob! Very well explained

I have a 2009 Saab 9-3 Aero XWD manual, what brand and configuration do you recommend for a stage 2+ or stage 3? Especially considering the limitations of the DMF.
