Do you have to unmarry the the old one thats on the car? and does the new one need to be unmarried from the donor car before geting programmed in to my car?

Did you use GlobalTIS for programming? I am under the impression that for older models (2003) TIS2000 is needed to work.
Just did the steering wheel swap and ran into the same issue with my old paddle shifters not fitting into the newer wheel. Solution – remove the backs of each paddle shifter and swap them with the backs off the newer steering wheel switchs. They fit perfectly now and the electrical plugs are identical. Success – have been testing the results for about a week and all functions check out.
Hello, I have a 2008 Saab 9-3 TTiD. My problem is that the car won’t start anymore. When I insert the key into the ignition, it says that the key battery is discharged. When I put in a new battery, it still says the key battery is discharged, and I can’t start the car.
Do I need to program the CIM? I have a TECH2 and also a computer with GlobalTIS. I followed the procedure you showed in your video. Do you think I can solve the problem by trying to reprogram the CIM with my key, or do I need to replace it—buying a new CIM with one or more keys—and then adapt it to my vehicle? So when your car says steering wheel malfunction, it means you need a CIM?

Was lucky and only had to replace my clock spring to get my horn working and steering wheel buttons back, he got steering angle spot on and didn’t need to program anything…anyone looking for help with Saab’s on east coast he’s located in Vermont by will travel his name is Richard LaBarre, he’s very knowledgeable on these cars
could this CIM module have something to do with the abs light coming on? When the ABS light is on the car will not start, i pop the hood up and wiggle a wire on the ABS module area and the car starts no problem, very wierd.
how can i get my sim programmed to my car i just put new sim and ignition in already and i cant find no one to marry the parts to my car i live in indiana and everyone i call says no one does it any more their tech 2 at a shop i went too didn’t even show an option for saab ive wastedso much money please help !!!!!

There is actually a small hole on those stalks,you can put a small screwdriver or pick in to push the spring,makes it easier.
My key split open and I lost the half with the chip un-noticed.
I bought a locksmith service on eBay; sent the CIM and the doorkey away to be programmed with a new key and doorkey cut as well. Costed me $160.
I could have bought a Tech 2 and learn to diy.
I thought I was going to have to replace the CIM in my 2006 Vert. High bean would only work very rarely on flash, and wouldn't engage as on at all. Turned out all I had to do was remove the stalk, and blast the CIM connectors with contact cleaner. Put the stalk back, and all good. Phew.
