You don’t need to do that it’s only a pin that is touching the bodywork just push it back in with a screwdriver job done.
I'm so upset. My Nissan doesn't look like that under panel.

Because they used cheap plastic. How could they choose that material for something that moves so many times over the years, bound to break.
Always best to try it out before you put it all back together as well as not forgetting the blue Loctite.
I got a nissan X-trail 2012 with the same problem. The driver door is making that sound when unlocking. The rear right makes that sound when it is locked.
Ours is stuck closed. Can't even get the door to open at all. Key, FOB, inside, outside handles, all same result, locked closed.
I have a 2008 Rogue that I bought straight from the dealer brand new that same year. It barely started making this noise 2 days ago. Good vehicle. Thanks for the video!

This video is 4 years old but I'm glad I found it. My 2013 Rogue is making the same noise. It's time for a new car, but its better to trade it my car with no weird noises to get the most value from the dealer. I will order the part and try the fix myself. Seems easy enough. There wasn't much instructions at the end, but I will do my best to follow the install at the end.

I have a 2013 Nissan rogue and I follow stage one ok, then stage 2 I do not have a door handle like that mine has window control and lock unlock button. So how do you get the panel off?

This noise started on my 2011 nissan sentra
Ya dont need to even remove the panel, just the 3 screws at the lock, there is a pin that wiggles out, you can see it if u look down. Just push it back in with a flat head, 5 min fix. GodSpeed

This worked great for me in 2015 Nissan Rogue Select! … A couple steps were different as I had to remove that handle piece than a bolt behind it which held the door panel in place, then you start pulling from an indentation at the front of the door to remove the panel… Also, after pulling out the noisy activator, I couldn't figure out how to access the other end of the lone cable very easily still inside the door frame, so I ended up using that cable with the new actuator. So glad I spent the $40 on Amazon instead of at least 10x that for parts and labor to have a shop replace it.
Dealership wanted around a $1000 for parts and labor to replace my door actuator on a 2013 Rogue. I bought a $35 actuator off Amazon and, using this video, installed it in about an hour this morning. Thank you for the tutorial, sir!
