From the computing side, this looks like a voodoo ceremony designed by the programers to set that system application back to default settings.

They want you to do a Rube Goldberg procedure to clear a light for a problem that is not really happening to the car.
Nissan is going in the wrong direction.

It is an Altima…

So, you might as well throw it away, no matter what.

@jimsanders4412 says:

If you unfortunately own a Nissan with a CVT transmission, and don’t have it serviced at least every 30,000 miles, you might as well set aside $6,000 to $7,000 and have it ready to pay for a new transmission!
My local Nissan dealerships actually carry them in their parts department!
I learned that the hard way when my Granddaughter’s 2014 Juke, with almost 90,000 miles on it and ran great. No codes or trans problems at all. Then it just stopped going on the freeway while she was heading back to college…at 9:30 PM!!
That was an expensive lesson for me as I didn’t really know much about the Nissan CVTs.
I do now, and will never own another CVT equipped vehicle.
I heard recently that they stopped putting them in the Rogue and Pathfinder. Good.

@deanspanos8210 says:

Oh, I thought you meant selling you a car.

Would be nice to know the mileage, they designed their 80’s and 90’s trucks and SUV’s to mix the atf with antifreeze at 140k.

@SmallDoseOfCourage says:

Auto makers are taking the John Deere approach by eliminating right to repair and trying to monopolize the auto repair industry for more profits.

@SmallDoseOfCourage says:

They laughed at me driving my rusty truck. Now I’m Laughing at these Altima owners and I drive past by them in my 5 speed, 92’ rusty Nissan truck that will outlast anything new.

@MikeSuma669 says:

Why anyone would get a car with a cvt boggles my mind

@mysticalwolfakela4131 says:

Damn. Im glad I didn't keep my Nissan Altima that the dealership gave me. I ended up gets a Honda.
