These two things can help prolong the life of your Mazda RX-8 and it’s engine. Making sure that the Apex seals are getting the oil they need is crucial and things like premixing and installing a SOHN adapter are two of the best ways to do that.

It's not eye-demitsu bro. It's ee-demitsu
How much premix do you use though?
Question, if I do the sohn adapter do I still premix or do I not have to premix since it’s already taking fresh oil and inserting it into the engine?
This is way too much work to be doing to your engine in the 21st century
step 1 don't buy one
For everyone watching this video, as a BOOSTED rx8 owner, here are some corrections. ONLY use premix on a car with the catalytic converter removed. Premix will clog your cat and cause heat issues, potentially ruining your motor.
A sohn adapter is not only not needed but adds another point of failure. If your OMP is working there is no reason for you not to just add oil. There is no proven benefit of using a sohn adapter. It offers no extra reliability. You should be changing the oil in your rx8 every 3000 miles anyways, so your oil should never get “dirty”- just use vr1 conventional and top it off as needed. You’ll know if your OMP is working if you are consuming oil and have no leaks.
Kinda tired of these things being misrepresented in the community and people thinking these cars will actually be bulletproof after doing them when most of the time your doing them improperly.
What you SHOULD be spending your money on is a BHR midpipe, because it’s not glass packed like every other on the market so it doesn’t melt and hollow out, BHR rev C coils, an AEM or stock intake, and decent motor mounts- poly filled DIY or equivalent.
Brands to stay away from are Trex performance and rx8 performance. Both are no longer shipping orders but taking peoples money. If you are serious about these cars, get an RX8club account and read the forums.
Better yet, never buy a car with a rotary engine, the gas mileage sucks bad on top of all the other negatives
Convert it to electric, it will last forever 😉
Swap the engine haha
Honestly wish there was an option for the Series 2 RX8s, since it can't use a Sohn Adaptor. I'm surprised no one has invented something for those years.
Sohn Adapter is best mod ever .. but dont use this kind of transparent tube .. use fuel/oil line that doesnt deterioate
Just leave your rx8 stock
Change oil every 2000 miles
Only run high octane gas
9000 rpm once a day keeps the carbon away
Owned a 04 it was a nice sports car
Hi I have a 2004 Mazda rx8 and it starts and will run but when I try to put it in gear it stalls what is going on please help I also had to take off my Cadillac converter it was starting fires under the car so bad that it got so hot it's soldered together the pipes I had to cut them off it has 85000 miles on it and it sat for 2 years straight what should I do please help
You only use premix if the oil metering pump doesnt work
Ive had my series 2 for 7 years with no issues and ive never pre mix. It still runs perfectly.
Where would you get an adapter or put the reservoir?
2nd suggestion is extra if you change your oil regularly it's fine, if you have premix you don't really need an oil pump
Best way to prolong the life of an RX8: LS swap
I have yet to add a sign adapter to my RX8 but I really should
I'll stick to my bald eagle juice thank you very much
Good short and I don’t mean this to be rude, but if you have to buy your own fuel additives and reroute the oiling system just to make the engine work properly, that’s a badly designed engine.
