How to replace the expansion valve on a Mazda CX-7 (No dash removal)

In this video i show you how to replace the expansion valve on a Mazda CX-7 without removing the entire dash. dash removal is a serious pain in the butt and this way is super simple. the hardest part of all of this is the vent from your blower motor. the piece that holds the blower motor resistor. If you are not careful you will break the tabs so please take your time. other than that this is the easiest possible way i know to do it. I had a very slow leak + seized clutch and when I pulled condenser, drier and compressor, I found less then 5ml oil. I'm not sure if the oil has all migrated to the evaporator or if it just leaked out slowly over time… that is why I'm thinking of flushing out the evaporator… Can I flush without removing the expansion valve? I have a new condenser + drier and compressor but not sure how to deal with oil amount given I'm not sure if there is any oil in the evaporator.

Do the rigid hoses move easily – they look like they go straight into the firewall – is there enough play?

Hello the black hose in the 6:30 minute is the ac condensate drain ?

Just wondering what was the issue that you needed to replace the expansion valve? I am about to drop a compressor in a cx-7, It is very noisy and hi side pressure sky rockets to 500. Could not see any metal in the system.

Great video! I do think a video on how to refill with the standard gauges one day would be good!
