Quick demonstration video on how to do an oil change and oil filter change on my 2008 Lotus Elise. Same process would apply to 2005 to 2011 Elise and Exige models with the 2ZZ-GE 1.8 liter Toyota engine. It is simpler than I thought it would be. Parts needed:

Hi, do you warm up the engine before proceeding? Assume yes because otherwise you dont get the oil in the cooling circuit at the front…
But then i see you getting your end full of oil without burning yourself…
Which quick-release drain plug is that? Fumoto? Got a part number?

THIS CAR SUCKS TO DO AN OIL SERVICE ON !! tHE CAR HAS TO BE OIL A DRIVE ON LIFT IN ORDER TO REMOVER THE ENGINE BELLY SHIELD. There is no way you are able to do an oil service on a 2 post lift . Lotus for the FAIL !!
I always do one extra step to be on the safe side, I remove the fuel pump fuse and let the engine crank without running to get some oil into the filter and "prime" it, then check the oil level and adjust it or start the engine.
And did your pre-losen the filter? Because I never managed to get any oil filter off by hand…

How many quarts you running I have the same oil pan and I forgot if it was 6quarts of oil?
