What if your brake lights work and the fuse is good could the brake switch still be bad

I thought I would have to have my 2012 Navigator towed to a mechanic today before seeing your video and greatly thank you for it. I also thank the commentor who mentioned pumping the brakes to get the shifter to temporarily work. After pumping the brakes I drove to an O'Reilly Auto Parts
Store and showed one of the employees your video. After testing the fuse and finding it was ok I bought the 20.00 part and another employee installed it with no additional charge.
I later messaged my sister in case this problem happens with her Expedition. I subscribed to your channel and appreciate the videos.

That is a load off my wallet if it works for me. Bought a 2007 MKX Lincoln at an online impound auction that is not shifting out of park. The wrecker driver that delivered the car this morning pointed out the bypass port next to the shifter. If I can fix that for 10 bucks, and get a key for less than $200 that will make my day. Bummer part is it will take six weeks before I get a title. Thanks for the tip. I am working with a lamo battery, but will check on that asap.
Thank you a million for sharing this knowledge with us, I was able to replace the fuse and stop light switch with no issues.
But I had to press the gear shifter override button to drive the car to get the new switch. ($36 Auto Zone Corpus Christi, TX)
How do I reset the override button?
