Damn, where have you been 2 days ago. Got new alternator for 130$ on Amazon with overnight shipping. With rebuilding most probably you'll spend more time finding issue order wrong parts etc.

@kawaldeep5056 says:

Where to get the replacement rectifier?

@kawaldeep5056 says:

Mine is a 2006 2.4 camry same as in the video and recently I've been hearing a whine noise from alternator. The moment I remove the alternator 4pin connector the whine stops. What do u suggest ? Are those diodes

@HarryJensen-kr4qz says:

I've never seen a rectifier on my alternator. Everything is soldered in except the brushes.

@paleocon777 says:

I have a 2000 Camry LE V6 148,000 miles still has the original alternator and radiator
I’m constantly doing maintenance on schedule.

@paleocon777 says:

I don’t think too many people are gonna do this.

I have a 2013 civic EX 1.8l and apparently my regulator is bad. Yet everything alternator wise seems fine when I turn my lights on to drive at night. When it’s only my DRLs running it goes from a steady 14.0 to 14.4 and typically doesn’t fluctuate at all and it doesn’t drop unless you’re doing something like turning your AC on or your windows down or up, etc. but right as I turned mine nighttime driving lights off it starts acting up. So if I change out the regulator inside of the alternator, and would it be better to replace the rectifier as well? And never done this before so I’m hoping it’ll be easier than I hope. I rebuilt my own starter on accident and then replaced the copper contacts and brains were about 10 years until I got hit by a drunk driver.

@emehlhar says:

25 bucks for a replacement rectifier board?
Amazon listed one for $100 with taxes. I guess it must be Trump's tariffs.

@Death_By_Lag says:

So what your saying is if you buy an alternator, but that spare parts at the same time and have it waiting for the replacement later to save you spending another $1600 on a alternator

@thisthatwhatsup-mh3hq says:

You can't get alternator parts anymore it's very limited. If they want you to pay the big bucks for a brand new rebuilt alternator and it sucks everybody's ripping everybody off. It really sucks anymore

@terryshireman4271 says:

It probably also needs new brushes as well not just a rectifier.

@zechariyahthemessenger9873 says:

Alternators for that year are nowhere close to that price remanufactured or OE. They are inexpensive. But if you feel a need to take things apart then more power to you.

@crazylizard92ify says:

Can I do this for a 2009 Chevy Silverado alternator?

@keithpoley3432 says:

You can go even further, and replace the diodes themselves and save another $20

@tinaperez9756 says:

But you don't mention how to "trace it back to the alternator".

@lindamora7 says:

Blessings brother can you please advise where you're located?

@BrandonSALJ says:

Don’t forget to check your brush pacc also the grounding points are the mounting points so if your engine is a greezynasty pigg your going to run into some issues

@BrandonSALJ says:

I went and got one from a D 17 Civic one mine is a T6. It’s not compatible, but the plugs are the same and it looks identical. I made it work. I need to do a little bit of work on the bracket, but it charges.

@BrandonSALJ says:

Last time I seen an alternator that was actually draining the battery overnight. It was a generator and it was a 1969 Chevy Malibu lol

@kandlrex says:

Used to be faulty regulators, most places here don't sell them anymore

@AAdventure91 says:

My alternator has been wiggin out for a good while and draining my battery. I did a little scrub to the wire stuff from the outside but in a day or two I’m taking the alternator out to give it a thorough clean. Just cleaning it on a pinch has made a huge difference to the performance of my car. Thanks.

@KingElijahsintuition says:

Yeah… imma go head and replace the whole thing

@VIDYASAAGAR-z9z says:

Rectifier or diode you said??..be clear man….

@taevinthewoods says:

how can i know if this will fix it or if its more

@SimpleGuy795 says:

you can change single diode for 50 cents….
