Can’t you just put the car in neutral mode to release the brakes?
Thanks for the video Viktor. When retreating the EPB I think I went the wrong way for too long and it over extended. I detached the actuator to manually try and wind it back in but now the piston is jammed, it will only wind out but won’t come back. Any suggestions or so I need to buy a new EPB and Caliper bracket?

Are the left and right brake caliper brackets interchangeable? I notice the pins (one ring on end and one not) the ringed one only fits into one of the two holes. The straight fits into both so you can’t mix that up.
How do I know which one is for the left and which one is for the right? Both have a 6T on the bracket one has the number five and one has the number three one also has a 621000 and the other has a 620932.
I watched another video and it appears the ringed side goes towards the top. They are not interchangeable
Great videos, Viktor – you're awesome. Couple thoughts having just completed rears. 1. Was not able to use 9v battery to back off the EPB (just didn't throw enough juice), but not that big a deal to disconnect the car's battery and use that (however, once you do that you have to reset the ICO sensor per the manual – again, not a big deal – just drive it around); 2. I think the locktite on the 14nm bolts may be because it's difficult to get a torque wrench on the top one due to the location of the spring (I also bought a low profile 3/8" ratchet for same reason). I just had to eyeball it. 3. The space for the 17mm wrench to keep the caliper bolt from twisting is too narrow for any of the 17mm wrenches I had laying around. Was able to borrow one, but not sure how hard it is to find a "thin" 17mm – definately needed though. Thanks again!
When you remove the sliders, do you need to remove the boot and clean inside with a rag and brake cleaner before you insert the sliders back in?
I bought front OEM rotor from Lexus dealership. Part number is 43512-F6010. It mentions on Lexus part website that this part replace 0E050 and 78010. This part number has an extra big hole in it. Do you know what is the reason for this hole?
Hi Viktor, great video! If I have a scanner tool, do I still need to disconnect the plastic connector, once the EPB is retracted, to remove the caliper?
Nice video I wonder why you did not flush the system when doing brake relining, the old brake fluid is bad for brake system in any vehicle, why because used fluid is broken down because of the heat build up with usethank for the video. Gabriel

I bought a pair of alligator USB clamps. Could I plug the USB end into a portable battery (slim rectangular one) and this would allow me to back up the electric brake?

You don’t have to use a battery to release the parking brake? Just crank the car and put it in drive and hold the brake of course and have someone unplug the parking brake clip. I blocked the wheels and did it myself.
why needed the battery? can it be easily done with an OBD scantool ?
Hello Victor, thank you so much for helping me save big time money as a decent diye'r. I could use your expertise. My son has a 2001 Tacoma 2wd that will sometimes experience a little vibration during braking at low speeds almost stopped. The problem is very intermittent and usually only after driving a lot. The rotors have been changed and I recently checked for runout and is almost perfect as rotors are fairly new. Brake pads are from Toyota OEM ,slide pins and hardware lubed with Raybestos Silicone brake lubricant. Front end was recently rebuilt with new OEM ball joints, stabilizer strut bars , and tie rod ends along with new upper and lower control arm bushings. Any direction or input would be greatly appreciated. Yes we used the shim kit for the brake pads with grease as per Toyota recommendations. Thanks again and sorry for the long rant.
Is it recommended to bleed the brakes each time you replace the pads or at certain mileage interval?
