Love this! I'm keen to do something similar in our 4-berth puma camper. our kids sleep downstairs in the back, and i'd like to be able to spin these chairs and fit a table so we turn the front into a living / dining area
Ive been in love with the idea of captains chairs for years. And attached armrests that swivel up would solve the issue of a tired inside arm.

The swivel base was slightly short to reach both the front and rear factory fixings, so I couldn’t get it in, plus it would be at the wrong angle to the original rear thread.
I think the best and easiest improvement would be send the rear fixing all the way into the seat base and a new plate, or make a bespoke steel frame that picks up all the factory fixings.

Hey, just a quick thought, perhaps an improvement… Where you have the bolts going through the alloy RHS and into the original seat hole/threads, if you were to make the top hole bigger, you could pass the entire head of the bolt down through(into) the RHS. (am I making sense?)
This does two things, One: the RHS cant crush/deform if you overtighten and Two: you don't have to do the little square cut-out on the swivel base.
(I did this when I made my own seat risers)
