3 Ways to fix Land Rover air suspension

Discovery 3 + 4 and Range Rover Sport all suffer from air suspension failure and there are two different set ups out of the factory. Earlier Hitachi pumps and later, improved AMK pumps. You can replace both pumps with genuine or OEM Dunlop pumps, or upgrade the whole kit to AMK. The other choice is to convert to springs – about the same price. Take a look and see which pump you hav ein your Land Rover.

The Hitachi production went out with that Japanese tsunami. Amk much better but from memory, it took Land rover almost a year to resolve supply problems. I was operating a land rover non franchised business at the time and we had to source reconditioning repair kits for the compressors and overhaul them until amk became available. By that time my local franchised dealers had 40 plus vehicles in the yard waiting for a part!
