*UPDATE 15k Miles* – Sludge Factory Kia Forte – Using Valvoline Restore & Protect

Hello YouTube,

Here is our 15k mile update on our Sludge Factory Kia project we shared over a year ago. We wanted to find out if the Kia is still running and if it is burning oil after how it was neglected. We used Valvoline Restore & Protect around 5K miles ago.

We take a peek inside the valve cover to compare and split open the oil filter to see if we have any more debris left inside this motor. Follow along the journey and let us know your feedback on this (4) part video series.

If it did a full clean in one oil change the filter would be clogged.

@krod2162 says:

Add in seafoam with restore and protect an it will probably really clean everything , good

Liked and hyped thanks for the follow up!

Not to sound harsh but when you don't have time for your vehicle and over extending your oil changes you shouldn't own a vehicle. Abuse it and expect miracles.

@ghight736 says:

A majority of heads have small pockets where oil will pool. If those pockets fill with sludge, there is no path for it to drain away. Like putting a clump of dirt into a glass of water, it will break down, but the dirt will remain in the bottom of the glass. Restore and Protect definitely cleans engine parts better than anything I have used before, but there is only so much it can do on its own. Once its a sludge factory, it will always show signs of sludge unless you manually clean.
