I Put a 100,000 KM Engine in My 300,000 KM Kia

My Kia Ceed has over 300,000 km on the clock… and the engine was finally starting to give up.

It all started with a check engine light. After running diagnostics, the problem turned out to be the EGR valve. But after checking the engine more closely, I discovered something much worse — poor compression and a lot of kilometers behind it.

So I decided to replace the entire engine.

I found a used engine with around 100,000 km and decided to give my Kia a new chance. During the swap, I also replaced the timing components and changed all the oil and fluids.

But after hours of work, there was one moment we were all waiting for…

I turned the key — and the new engine WOULD NOT START.

And when it finally did start… it didn’t exactly sound healthy.

Watch until the end to see what happened and whether the Kia finally made it back onto the road!

Car: Kia Ceed 2017
Engine: D4FC
Mileage: 300,000+ km
Replacement engine: ~100,000 km

What a fantastic watch. Glad it all worked out. Thanks for putting up the time spent on it as well at the end. I was definitely wondering about 3/4 the way in.

Teda, ten podvozek na tom jednom místě nevypadá vůbec dobře. Někdo tam musel špatně umístit zvedák. Jinak je to od tebe další skvělé video, ve kterém jsi prokázal své odborné znalosti.
