How to replace Evaporator Temperature Sensor in Kia Sportage

In this video, I’ll show you how to replace the A/C evaporator temperature sensor in a 4th gen Kia Sportage.

The evaporator temperature sensor may be small, but it plays a critical role in your air-conditioning system. It constantly monitors the temperature of the evaporator core and helps prevent it from freezing up. When this sensor starts to fail, you may notice weak cooling, the A/C compressor cycling on and off, or the compressor not engaging at all.

I’ll also show you exactly where this sensor is located and how to access it without removing the entire dashboard or HVAC housing. Kia designed it to be accessible from the passenger side, making this repair much easier than you might expect.
