Wow, Jeeps are insanely expensive and they can't even build a half decent engine? People have been building gasoline engines since the 1800s and they can't figure it out now?!
I avoid part store parts like the plague. If I can reuse good ol' OEM parts, I'm reusing them. There are good aftermarket parts, but Autozone doesn't sell them.
A piston could blow through the side of that block and it would still run. Those engines are tough
Why not a new timing chain? Are all the new ones bad quality or something?
How TF did GM sign off on that casting?
Made in America I guess…
That normally would call for a patch and rebuild?

To much radiator fluid
Okay… You think engines blowing up is normal?
Why would I not want to put a new timing chain in?
El 258 AMC ?
What about the 2.5?
Don’t put a new timing chain in? Why not? I have several 4.0 Cherokees
its a drain hole made with a hammer when the block is still hot out of the mould
I never grew up. Never stopped playing with blocks

What are many blocks I can make myself a whole new engine block made out of that stuff
Just not real good casting cores.
