If I wanted to disable the start/stop completely could I just disconnect the negative of the auxiliary battery?

How would one no this battery needs replacing? Is that the little message on the dashboard that says “ service start stop system”
Im glad I watched this video. My car shuts off and won't restart on its own. Now its not wanting to start when I shut it off. Parts store checked battery 4 times. Bad 1st try. Next 3 try was good. He said a mechanic had to replace the battery because you had to reset the computer or it'll over charge the battery. Ty for this video.

Thanks man! I know this is 3 years old but… Been told oh no, your 2019 Jeep Compass w/ Latitude trim DOES NOT have a 2nd battery. (I'm not a mechanic but can learn and have tools) So after viewing your video I went out to the car and your tip about the foam surround cover helped me find it. But sure enough I saw that foam and pulled it back and saw I have a Performance Parts Battery 200 CCA Group 400 as my secondary battery. And yes, I saw the main battery too, since I'm not a mechanic to others who wonder–ha. Even was told by a major used car dealer in my area, no, you don't have one. Was told some Jeep compass' don't have them. SMH. Thanks so much for this video, just so I now know. Now, will I replace them myself—on this car–probably not. So I did see and identify both. My main one is SUper Start Platinum AGM out of Azark Automotive Distribution. Thanks for your help again and hope this helps someone else with this model.

I'm late to this chat. Have to change my start stop battery, but im reading there is a reprogram procedure after reinstalling the new battery.
