My friend asked me to find him a good guitar for recording that had a whammy bar and a “jangly” sound, but wasn’t too expensive. I quickly recommended a used Squier Classic Vibe Jaguar, which you can find for around $300. These guitars are a great value, but buying used can mean they have a few small issues.
This one felt solid, but had a few red flags with the electronics and setup that needed to be addressed. I’ll show you how I fixed the issues and got it ready to make music again.

Wood should be hydrated BEFORE it's waxed. The point of waxing is sealing the pores and woodgrain. That said, most wood wax products already have hydrating properties

If anyone is wondering, baby oil is mostly mineral oil just like lemon oil. Personally, I use mineral oil since I need it for my wooden cutting board.

I’ve been debating whether to buy this Jaguar or save up for the Player II Jaguar from Fender. I really don’t care if the switches are present or not, but something about the pickups sounded different on each. Did this one you’re using have any problems with intonation or anything else?
4:24 That isn't a tune-o-matic, those are supposed to have friction so the bridge can rock, your really not supposed to lewb that stock bridge because too little friction there will throw off the intonation after using the bar.

The guitar center limited edition Daphne Blue is body wood other. Wood blocks put in a body mould and blow moulded, outer shell is high density and then white hard resinous or cementious foam. The white stuff is in there at about 4 mils deep anywhere you wouldn't normally drill, screw or access. I have a short showing it where one was damaged on the bout, body curve. It's solid stable proven stuff, but they should disclose it in a way that doesn't look like a typo. As far as I know, it is only in the pink JM, and the Daphne blue Jag. Both listed as limited run colorways with their own listings. Differences in the specs show body wood construction other, as opposed to Basswood or Poplar etc. on the standard Classic Vibe Jags and JM listings. On the normal listings you can select colors from drop down, but they were like a separate inventory item with the body wood construction and color being the only difference.
Good advice. Just ty one out, only problem is Jag or Jazz? If you are a modder that loves endless options, then the Jag is the one.
