In this video I have a look at a customer’s 2016 Hyundai Elantra that was dropped off with a complaint of no front left turn signal. She already had it at another shop where they replaced the bulb and told her it “must be a wiring issue” because the new bulb didn’t fix it. Hmmmm… sounds suspicious.
So we’ll dig into it, do some actual testing, and see what the real issue turns out to be. Sometimes the problem is wiring… and sometimes the problem is a lot simpler than people want to admit.
Will it be an easy fix or an electrical nightmare? Let’s find out!

Being a retired electronics/ electrical contractor. I must say this. Electrical trouble shooting has humble me and my ego many, many times. When something dosen't work. Most times it can be the simplest things. It truly is "detective work" and using the process of elimination, or substitution you whittle away to eliminate the multiple of variables. And even then, Heaven forbid you have multiple troubles on the same circuit. That's truly humbling. In my experiences of 40 in the field.
NORMAL everyday repairs are the meat and potatoes!
The Other Shop Replaced The Bulb.
It Did Not Fix The Issue.
And All They Said "It's Not The Bulb"
I guess they don't want to diagnose or worry about the Person Going To The Car Show.
Not My Kind Of Shop
Great video. As in most cases, it's usually something simple/inexpensive such as a wire or connector. Great showing the process, as one can't make assumptions, and following a logical troubleshooting approach is best.
Blue is (L) because B could be Brown or Black also and Bl could be Blue or Black.

This is a great video…it teaches the kind of thing anyone could check if they know what to test. Also awesome shop greeter cat.
Good video. Another shop couldn't figure it out!
I agree Eric… what you consider simple, to us novice technicians you do show excellent diagnostic skills. I For one appreciate it.
