When I was repairing Ryobi electric pressure washers (water blasters) the fix for the pump was to replace the pump assembly basically because a lot of them got corroded because they have an aluminium housing !

One unique thing about these Honda GC engines is that since the fuel tank is lower than the carburetor, a fuel pump is needed to deliver the fuel to the carburetor. Definitely an uncommon feature on engines this size. Only problem is that it takes a lot more pulling to get it started when it is empty since you first need to get the fuel pumped up to the carburetor.
